EL Advanced Centre S1 Play First Match

The EL Advanced Centre S1’s played our Midlothian Advanced Squad counterparts in a development match at Poltonhall Astro in Bonnyrigg.

EL Advanced Centre S1 Play First Match

Despite some torrential rain and a very late switch of venue the much anticipated match was able to go ahead and both Advanced squads were able to showcase their skills in a match for the first time.

One of the main aims of organising this type of game is to give players the opportunity to try and transfer some of skills learned from the training sessions on a Monday into a match environment without worrying about making mistakes.

It was very pleasing to see both teams playing some good passing football, they always looked to play out from the back, through the thirds and into attacking/goal scoring opportunities.

Midlothian eventually ran out 4-1 winners but the East Lothian players can be very proud of how they performed, their attitude was first class, they continually tried to play the right way and encouraged each other in a positive manner, if they continue to conduct themselves in this way I’m sure they can look forward to a promising future in the game.
