Falcons U15 Squads Kick Off Pathway Fixtures

The two East Lothian U15 rugby squads played their first fixtures against the Borders U15 teams in Gala

There were mixed results for the East Lothian Falcons squads that travelled down to Gala to play against the two Borders pathway teams. The Falcons ‘Green’ team was up first against a strong Eastern Stormers outfit. They got off to the worst possible start, giving away 3 soft tries before they had even settled into the game. The Greens fought back though after being well down at half time to win the second half try count by three tries to two. There were signs of improvement as the game progressed and although going down 41-17, the boys fought right to the end.

The second game saw the Falcons ‘Whites’ team take on the Western Warriors and it was a reversal of the first game. The Whites got off to a flying start and went three tries up early in the first half. Although the Warriors did fight back to get back into the game, the Whites ran out 36-27 winners.

These fixtures highlighted the young talent on show and after putting in a lot of hard work in preparation for the games, all the players did themselves proud. The next games will be up at Meadowmill on Wednesday 26th April with the teams swapping over and playing against the team they didn’t play in the first fixtures.
