Micheal Curran is our Volunteer of the Month

Micheal Curran, a School Janitor from Prestonpans has won our Volunteer of the Month Award for his incredible Football Coaching Commitment

The Winner of the October Volunteer of the Month Award was given to Micheal Curran the school janitor of Prestonpans Primary School.

Michael Curran has coached the Prestonpans Primary School football teams in a voluntary capacity and is now moving into his 14th Year of Volunteering within the Prestonpans area. He takes regular weekly training throughout the school year and participates in all of the ELC organised festivals. Michael has taken both the boys and girls football teams, and has been integral to the development both technical and personal for hundreds of children that have passed through Prestonpans Primary School. The clubs that Michael has run have always been free and have included several children that have recognised disabilities. During his time coaching the teams Michael has had success winning several competitions multiple times, including the John Home Robertson Trophy, Douglas Allan Trophy, East Lothian Girls Indoor Tournament. Throughout the years Michael has also been heavily involved in the planning and promotion of fixtures across East Lothian specifically in the Preston Lodge Primary School Cluster.

Micheal was nominated by his Active Schools Coordinator Paul Lavery who added his congratulations while confirming football in the Prestonpans area values Micheal hugely for all the effort he has put in over the years.
