North Berwick girls take hockey titles but other schools are closing in.
March has been a busy month for hockey in East Lothian, not least with the S2 and senior girls tournaments taking place at Meadowmill Sports Centre, Tranent.
North Berwick were defending champions in both age groups and were up against other strong teams; Dunbar Grammar, Knox academy, Preston Lodge, Knox Academy and Ross High. Once way ahead of the other schools North Berwick had stiff competition from Ross High and Knox Academy this year and the gap is beginning to close.
Hard work and the input from schools, junior and senior hockey clubs and East Lothian Development squads have had a positive impact on school sport competition in East Lothian and it is encouraging to see.
