On Saturday 17th June over 250 gymnasts competed in the East Lothian Gymnastics Competition
Meadowmill Sports Centre once again welcomed gymnasts from across East Lothian to the 6th Annual East Lothian Gymnastics Competition. With over 280 gymnasts registered to take part, the event was a success with almost 600 performances.
The event, run by the East Lothian Gymnastics Development Forum with the support of enjoyleisure, consisted of two sections of competition – recreational and club. Gymnasts from six centres were registered within 13 categories within the recreational competition based on Scottish Schools Competition structure. Four of the local gymnastics clubs were also present with gymnasts in the twelve club categories – Duo Gymnastics Club, East Lothian Gymnastics Academy, Elevate Gymnastics Club and Saltire Team Gymnastics.
Thanks must go to all volunteers who came forward to help on the day with a variety of jobs, including parents and pupils from Ross High School who supported with gymnast registration, scoring and social media amongst other jobs. Special thanks to Tom Swan - Tennis Development Officer for his support on the day.
