North Berwick and Dunbar shutllers are County Champions.
The Mid and East Lothian U14 and U19 Secondary School Badminton Quaich Competitions were both held recently at Meadowmill Sports Centre. In the U14 event North Berwick were too strong all round for their opposition however, Knox Academy fought hard to finish in 2nd place with Preston lodge 3rd and Dunbar Grammar in 4th place.
In the U19 age group, Dunbar Grammar came out on top 3 – 2 against Preston Lodge who had represented the county in the national finals for the past ten years.
Both winning schools will now go forward to represent the County at the Scottish Schools U14 and U19 Quaich event, in February 2018 at Bell’s Sports Centre, Perth.
East Lothian Badminton Development Officer Christine Black was delighted with the fun and competitive spirit amongst the pupils and wishes to thank senior pupils, staff, coaches and all the Secondary Sport and Physical Activity Co-ordinators who organised and assisted throughout the afternoon.
