* Age 16yrs or over
* Scottish Swimming Member*

Course Cost: £300 per learner

Funding: Funding applications must be made to Sport Scotland no later that 4 weeks before your course start date.

Outline:
This is the first step towards becoming a swimming teacher and is designed to introduce candidates to the basic principles of teaching.
This course leads to a vocational qualification designed to provide you with an introduction to the knowledge, skills and understanding of the safe and ethical principles for effective teaching practices in aquatics
Once qualified the holder of the Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics is able to actively support a more senior qualified / licensed aquatic teacher at any level, in the delivery of a pre-prepared session. This person will be expected to have an understanding of the aquatic and a basic understanding of appropriate correction to common aquatic faults.
This qualification is endorsed by UKCC and sits on the Scottish Qualifications and Credit Framework (SQCF) UKCC Level 1 Certificate for Teaching aquatics
