Boys U12 East Lothian Hockey

It's time for the U12 boys in the East Lothian Squad to take on Loretto in a friendly

Loretto boys game

Second week of the spring term, a squad of nine players from the East Lothian U12 Development Hockey Squad headed over to Loretto in Musselburgh for a friendly against Loretto's P7 group of boys. The standard of hockey was very high indeed. This was the first time this group of boys had played a match together, with a last minute call up for two U10 boys due to injuries in the U12 squad. A little slow off the mark for the first ten minutes, conceeding a couple of early goals, then wow did they all pull together and played a very exciting closely faught match. Stong distribution and pick up of balls let to a couple of fine goals from our boys. The final score was however in Loretto's favour, with our boys losing 3-2.

Thank you to Loretto as in usual Loretto style the boys were made to feel very welcome, both on and off the pitch, with the delicous after match tea in the school. Thanks too to Donna HIll who umpired the game and to all the parents, grandparents and siblings who came along to watch.

The boys are looking forward to their rematch on Friday 9th March, again at Loretto School. U10 and U12 boys squads both playing this day. Who said there was no boys hockey in East Lothian!
