Hats Off!
A great turn out at Enjoy Leisure’s Meadowmill Athletics Arena on Saturday 23rd March, to celebrate the official opening of the Covered Grand Stand and Strength and Conditioning Shelter
Thanks to a massive amount of work by Stuart Donnelly of Team East Lothian; who painstakingly filled out repeated applications and answered many difficult and complex questions to achieve funding from the Leader Project, alongside the extended support of Paddy of 4JStudios; this project was achieved.
It was a pleasure to host the opening event which was attended by Mark Munro, Chief Executive of Scottish Athletics; John McMillan, Lord Provost; Neil Aitken, Enjoy Leisure; Ed Hendrikson, East Lothian Council; Chris Rhodes, Architect for the project; Barry (the Gun) Craighead, Scottish Athletics Official; along with many more people who have supported the project throughout its progress.
Children and adults were encouraged to take part in, ‘Just For Fun’, running, jumping and throwing events which took place across the morning. It was great to see so many people of all ages getting involved in athletics and each and every one of them had a great big smile on their faces!
