High for Noon at Craigielaw

4th Secondary School Order of Merit Event Results

2018 Craigielaw Lewis

The fourth and penultimate Secondary School Order of Merit Events was held at Craigielaw Golf Club on Fri 13th April 2018.

This was a rescheduled date due to weather which finally improved and it was a relief to have an unlifiting fog rather than high winds and persistent rain!

Jack Noon (Musselburgh Grammar) made his debut return and won both the Scratch and Handicap Divisions with 31 and 35 points respectively.

Jack beat Cameron Spencer (North Berwick HS) into a close second place and Cameron beat Lewis Hannah (Musselburgh Grammar) into 3rd on the better inward half.

It was also a close contest in the Handicap Division for 3rd place between the Gallagher brothers (PLHS) with Jamie Gallagher beating his younger brother Ryan into 4th place on the better inward half.

Nearest the pin was won by Max Blair (PLHS)

2's:  Jamie Gallagher

Congratulations to Preston Lodge High School who won the team event with the 3 best net stableford scores and remain at the top of the team table.

CSS: 70 Scores have been entered into the CDH system however please ensure these have been received by your home club for handicap purposes

So there is still everything to play for our fifth and final event this Friday 20th April at Gullane Golf Club.

The winner of the scratch and handicap divisions will be invited to play in the East Lothian Council Scottish Open Pro Am team at Gullane on Wed 11th July.

There will also be a wild card place awarded to the player with the best scratch score at this final event.

Lewis Hannah (Musselburgh) currently holds the top spot in the Scratch Division however Cameron Spencer (NBHS) is sitting in a very close 2nd place.

Cameron and Jamie Gallagher are in joint first place in the Handicap Division however with Cameron away practicing for the Battle Trophy he has taken himself out of the running leaving it up to Jamie!

The Scottish Open Trophy will be there on Friday and all players are asked to come to the first tee of Gullane number 2 for 1315 for a group photo.

Tee times are on Gullane 2 from 1330 - 1430.

Good luck to you all!
