Niamh and Cameron crowned Mid and East Champions
Dunbar Primary pupil Niamh Taylor and Aberlady Primary pupil Cameron Lee were crowned Mid and East Lothian Primary School singles champions at the badminton tournament held recently at Meadowmill Sports Centre.
In the final of the girls singles Niamh Taylor was up against second seed Ellie Bent from Law who she beat comfortably 21/5 to win the singes title.
It was an all Dunbar Primary girls doubles final where Niamh partnered Poppy Green to win her second title against Kate Thomson and Maggie Punler 15/13.
In the Boys Singles, final Cameron Lee played Longniddry pupil George Cuthbert and after a long hard match, Cameron won his first Mid and East title 21/16.
The four finalists for the boy’s doubles were also from Dunbar Primary School with Rui Paxton and Finlay Goldie taking the title 15/9 against Enzo Percy–Davis and Coel Pettit.
East Lothian Badminton Development Officer would like to thank Laura Moos and Lewis Campbell for all their assistance throughout the event. Thanks also goes to U17 European Bronze medallist Alastair Campbell from Dunbar Grammar School who presented the trophies and medals.
