Louise selected to represent East of Scotland in InterDistrict Scottish Finals at the weekend
Breaking in to the East Districts is an incredibly hard thing to do for our girls out here in East Lothian. Over 100 girls trial from schools across the East district, with private schools and Edinburgh clubs dominating. In the initial trial of 110 girls, there were only 10-15 girls from state schools. Louise proved herself to be one of the top players over three hard trials, making the training squad of 25 and then being selected for the team squad of 18. She was the only player in the team who came from a State school. Having been on the coaching team this year for the districts and watched Louise’s journey, she has been exemplary not only in her hockey but also in her attitude and the way she embraced the process, the whole experience will be something I am sure she will never forget. Hockey here in East Lothian are so incredibly proud of her.
