Schools golf final at Gullane

East Lothian Pro Am team decider

2018 Gullane Golf final sofm Group

The 5th and final Secondary School Order of Merit Event was hosted by Gullane Golf Club on Friday 20th April 2018.

With the event deciding who would win the 3 places in East Lothian Council’s Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open Pro Am team at Gullane on Wed 11th July, there was everything to play for and the competition was tough. There was a wild card place up for grabs for the player with the best scratch score on the day, as well as a place for the winners of the Scratch and Handicap Divisions over the 5 events.

To celebrate both the ASI Scottish Open and the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open coming to Gullane in July we had the trophies visiting and inspire our golfers of the future!

Congratulations to Jack Noon (Musselburgh Grammar / Musselburgh Golf Club) who won the Scratch Wild Card place in the ASI Scottish Open Pro Am Team with a 1 over par round beating Valdemar Hundeboll (West Links) in a last 3 hole countback and William Ladbrooke (Gullane) into 3rd on a better inward half.

Congratulations also to Lewis Hannah (Musselburgh Grammar / Musselburgh Golf Club) who won the overall Scratch Order of Merit and Jamie Gallagher (Preston Lodge High School / Longniddry Golf Club) who won the overall Handicap Order of Merit and will join Jack in the Pro Am team.

All players should make sure their scores have been registered with their home club and their handicaps adjusted accordingly. The CSS was 70. See below for full results from Gullane.

I look forward to seeing our team in action on Wed 11th July at Gullane GC kick starting the ASI Scottish Open which runs from Thurs 12th July – Sunday 15th July and will be great day out for golfers, locals and families.

Many thanks to Gullane GC and all the local clubs that have hosted our events free of charge.  Your continued support to ensure high quality junior golf opportunites are available and accessible in East Lothian are greatly apperciated.
