Golfing glory at Gullane

for Gallagher and Malcolm

Good turn out for the second of our Secondary School Order of Merit Events at Gullane Golf Club.

Congratulations to Gullane P7 and home player Owen Malcolm who won the Handicap division with 38 points.  Owen beat Musselburgh Grammar's Lewis Irvine into a very close second (back 6 count back).  This was Owen's first Secondary Order of Merit event so he's off to a fantastic start.

Congratulations also to Preson Lodge's Cameron Gallagher who won the Scratch division with a gross 75.  Cameron beat North Berwick's Cameron Spencer into a very close second (back 9 count back).  Cameron Gallagher is our Scratch Division defending Champion and Cameron Spencer was last year's runner up so it looks like it will once again be a close contest between the Camerons!

1. Fri 23^rd Sept 2016 @ Winterfield GC, Times:  1330 – 1430
2. Fri 30^th Sept 2016 @  Gullane GC, Times: 1328 – 1440
3. Fri 17^th March 2017 @ Haddington GC, Times: 1330 - 1430
4. Fri 24^nd March 2017 – Venue TBC

Fri 28^th April 2017 –Musselburgh Monktonhall

Secondary Order of Merit Format

• Players must have an official Congu handicap
• Schools are guaranteed 5 places per event  
• If schools have more than 5 players interested please send me details of all your players in order and I will  try to accommodate them all
• Closing date for entries:  Friday prior to competition date
• There will be 3 competition divisions – Individual Scratch, Individual Handicap and Team (3 net scores count to team total)
•  Format:  Strokeplay Stableford
•  Each event will count towards their handicap so will be an opportunity for players to get an official card in
