Secondary Golf Order of Merit results

Good turn out for the third of our Secondary School Order of Merit Events at Haddington Golf Club.

The weather was not on our side with high winds and sub zero wind chill but the players all put up a good battle against the elements.

Congratulations to Max Blair (Preston Lodge HS) who stormed to victory in the Handicap division with 41 points and won by 8 clear points!  Coming in second was Jack Lucas (NBHS/Gullane PS) who got a very respectable 33 points in his first ever Secondary School Order of Merit event - one to watch!

Congratulations to Preson Lodge's Cameron Gallagher who won the Scratch division with 29 ponits.  Cameron beat North Berwick's Cameron Spencer into a very close second place - for the second event in a row.  Cameron Gallagher is our Scratch Division defending Champion and Cameron Spencer was last year's runner up so it continues to be a close contest between the Camerons!

Congratulations also to Lewis Irvine of Musselburgh Grammar who got nearest the pin at the 14th.

Congratulations to Preston Lodge High School who won the team event with the 3 best net stableford scores on the day.

Secondary Order of Merit Format

• Players must have an official Congu handicap
• Schools are guaranteed 5 places per event  
• If schools have more than 5 players interested please send me details of all your players in order and I will  try to accommodate them all
• Closing date for entries:  Friday prior to competition date
• There will be 3 competition divisions – Individual Scratch, Individual Handicap and Team (3 net scores count to team total)
•  Format:  Strokeplay Stableford
•  Each event will count towards their handicap so will be an opportunity for players to get an official card in
