Phil Purves Tranent Colts - Volunteer of the Year in Youth Football

Phil Purves has been the driving force behind the growth and success of Tranent Colts. He has been chairman of the club for over 14 years and has been instrumental in the growing the club into one of the biggest clubs in East Lothian. This has not happened overnight and Phil has been tireless in working with the football authorities over the year to achieve the highest Quality Mark status form the Scottish FA.

His passion and commitment to youth football and the community in general is outstanding and is a role model to all.

Michael Windram Musselburgh Windsor - Volunteer of the Year in Girls' & Women's Football

Michael has coached at Musselburgh Windsor for 6 years and for the last 3 years has coached 3 different Girls age groups. He is out coaching 6 days a week and it is down to him and Rab Taylor for growing the Girls section of the club, from start up to the thriving sustainable club the covers the full pathway for Girls now.

Without his dedication and commitment there would be no girls section at Musselburgh Windsor.

Tranent Colts - Disability Project

The Disability Award reflects those who make a significant difference to grassroots disability football and this year's award goes to Tranent Colts brilliant Disability Team Programme.

Led by Willie Gilhooley and his team they carry out some fantastic work giving young people the opportunity to play football in a professional, friendly and well supported environment where nobody is judged and the kids are just encouraged to be the best they can be.

Well done to all the awards winners and great to see this recognition for East Lothian clubs as whole and the incredible hard work they do for grassroots football.

Phil Purves and Michael Windram have both been nominated for the National Grassroots Awards and we wish them luck in possibly adding those awards to their collection also.
