Spotlight Volunteer Award for Alice Beveridge!

Congratulations on your award!

Alice 2

Alice got involved on the committee and board of Saltire Gymnastic Club last summer (2022). Alice was previously involved in Gymnastics as a gymnast then as a coach taking gymnasts up to Scottish Championship level in Women's Artistic Gymnastics. Alice has returned to the sport to support the club at a committee and board level after her two children joined the club.

Since becoming a trustee on the Saltire Club Board, Alice has got stuck in to all aspects of the club. As well as being a huge influence on the coaches and committee. Alice has also been a great help with supporting fundraising events by coordinating bake sales, running the tea & coffee stand at events, organising catering for officials at events and so much more.

Paul Huish from Club & Community Sports Development presented the award on behalf of Active East Lothian

Having previously volunteered with different charities, Gymnastics clubs and her background in psychology and teaching, Alice brings a unique set of skills to the club that have made a really positive impact.

Alice is currently attending at least 2 classes a week to work with the coaches and gymnasts, offering mentoring to the coaches and helping to instil a positive culture throughout the gymnasts and coaches. Alice also supports the staff and volunteer committee in the club offering advice and coaching at all levels.

Her commitment and dedication to Saltire in the last year has had a hugely positive impact and really deserves wider recognition.

Great work Alice, congratulation on your award. Very well deserved!
