Tuesday 22nd December 2020 Update

Following the First Ministers announcements on Saturday 19th December, and the National mainland return to Tier 4, East Lothian Active Schools has postponed the return of Outdoor Activity until after a review on Wednesday 20th January.

This decision covers all East Lothian Active Schools activity.

With a staggered return to schools in the New Year, and uncertainty over what Tier we will be living under in January, we thought it best to provide some clarity on our plans.

Our team will be working to support schools in their return to learning after the Festive Holidays.

We will also be planning for a return to activity in February, assuming we have reverted to Tier 3 or lower by then.

We know this will be disappointing, we are disappointed too.

We will be working hard to return our outdoor activities, as well as planning for a return to indoor activities as soon as we can.

We wish you all a fun and safe Christmas and New Year.

Best wishes.

Mark Urwin
Senior Active Schools Co-ordinator

Dunbar is one of the premier places for sport and physical activity in East Lothian, with outstanding facilities and strong community support. Active Schools Dunbar offers a wide variety of sport and physical activity opportunities for all primary school children. The schools covered by the Dunbar Coordinator are Dunbar, East Linton, Innerwick, Stenton and West Barns Primary

Active Schools Dunbar has a new programme set to launch in August and as well as the main stream sports on offer, children will be given the opportunity to take part in new and exciting activities such as Crossfit Kids, Acro Gymnastics and Golf. Links with over 10 local community clubs have recently been established providing the perfect pathway for the young people of Dunbar to participate in sport. Using the Active Schools team links we have also developed a programme with Dunbar Grammar to offer Trampoline classes.

Total Adventure see’s a boost in the new school year with Wakeboarding,  Surfing, Sailing and Rock Climbing. If your child wants a new challenge then total adventure is the way to go.

Active Schools provide the opportunity for children to obtain lifelong participation in sport so why not come along and give it a go!

At Active Schools we are always looking to promote opportunities for our Volunteers and Coaches to access training courses.

You can now find the most up to date training information from our Partners & Governing Bodies at the Training For All Page
