We are a small friendly club and our members come from a mixture of families and individuals and range in age from 3 to 70 years of age.

The club was formed in 1980 and at our Silver Anniversary barbecue some of the founder and now honorary members came to join us.

Our members compete at a range of events, from local events in East Lothian to the Scottish and British Championships. Many of our members enjoy participating at any level, getting satisfaction from completing a course, enjoying the challenge of finding a tricky control, keeping fit in an interesting way, exploring new places and meeting new people.

While it isn’t necessary to be competitive to get enjoyment from orienteering, we do celebrate the good results of some of our members. Recent successes include 1st in the “W21L-Brown” class in the 2013 Scottish Orienteering League and 1st in the Women’s Ultravet class in the 2013 Scottish Urban Orienteering League.

Previous ELO member, Murray Strain is now a World-Class orienteer, representing GB at the World Championships each year since 2010.
