Haddington Hockey comprises Haddington Ladies, Mens (in development), Youth and Knox Hockey sections, catering from P1 to adult.
We aim to provide hockey for all, whether it be competitive or just for fun.
The Youth Section is friendly and lively, with a focus on core skills combined with teamwork and most importantly, fun. We aim to provide the best possible start for children embarking on their hockey journey. We field club teams at U8, U10, U12, U14 and as of September 2018, U16s. Through Knox Hockey we field girls teams at S1, S2, S3, Seniors and new for season 18/19 is a boys U15 team. These various options mean children can move on from junior youth to senior youth training at the club and at Knox Academy and eventually onto adult hockey.
All our teams play regular fixtures and the Youth Section holds its own annual tournament in March, but we also welcome players who just want to train. Our Youth Section and Knox Hockey make sure they have fun with onesie training nights, Christmas Parties, trips to Nandos, rollerskating and summer camps. Our mens side is currently under development as the number of boys coming through the club increases. At the moment, a small group train together and we hope this grows to allow league entry for season 19/20. The ladies 1st team plays in the Championship of Scottish Hockey's National Leagues and as of September 2018, we will have a ladies development team in the East District Leagues. Our ladies 1st are the only ladies team in East Lothian playing in the National League and provide a good competitive level of hockey. Our new development team will focus on bringing on our young players and providing a more local and lower level of hockey for ladies who cannot commit to the 1sts. During the summer months we enter "Summer Slam" which is a 6-a-side version of the game that we use to get players from across the club playing together. We also have opportunity for a more recreational level with our "Back to Hockey" sessions which aim to engage those who haven't played in a while or even at all. Fun and fitness is the aim of the game! Haddington Hockey Club is fully committed to providing opportunities for participation, and developing all our players on and off the pitch.
We aspire to be a family club and open our doors to all, removing barriers where and when possible. Hopefully we will see you pitch side soon for a big Haddington Hockey welcome!
