Hockey Success at Tournament

Hockey East Lothian Development squads find success at The Compass School tournament.

Hockey Success At Tournament

On Saturday 22 March at the Aubingy Sports Cetnre, Haddington, East Lothian Hockey Development squads took part in a girls hockey tournament organised by The Compass School.  The age groups were U10a and U11s and for the very first time the development squads came together to represent East Lothian.

Kitted out in their East Lothian strips and armed with lots of supporters the girls were ready to take on Mary Erskin, George Watsons and George Heriots.  They played so well and grew together as a team, displaying skill, sportsmanship and teamwork.  The older girls in each squad included and encouraged the younger ones and showed maturity beyond their years.

The U10s came 2nd, which is absolutely fantastic!  Both squads should be very proud of themselves, I know their coaches are.  Head coach Solomon Daniel was there to cheer them on and offer words of encouragment along with lots of parent.

Fiona Harfield, East Lothian Hockey Development Officer would like to say a huge and special thanks to all the parents who helped manage the squads.  Without them East Lothian would not have been able to enter the tournament and the girls would not have been able to experience such a great event.
