Glasgow School of Sport U11 Badminton Championships held at Bellahouston Academy.
Ten year old Law Primary pupil Lois Turnbull (North Berwick) had a fantastic start to the new badminton season by winning the U11 Girls Singles title at the recent Glasgow School of Sport U11 Badminton Championships held at Bellahouston Academy.
Lois played her first three games in a pool system where she won all three matches beating the number three seed Brooke Stalker (Dunfermline) 15/4 15/10 to finish top of her group.
This put Lois through to the knock out stages where she won her quarter final match comfortably and continued her fine form when she toppled the second seed Anna Sterk in the semi-finals in two straight sets 15/7 15/10.
In the final she was up against top seed Keryn Swan and after a thrilling three set match Lois lifted her first trophy of the season 12/15 15/12 15/13.
Andrew Morgan (Longniddry) and Lewis Cunningham (Mayfield) also both won through to the Boys Singles ‘A’ Knock out with Lewis eventually losing in the last 16 and Andrew bowed out at the quarter final stages.
