Niamh and Cameron are Primary Champions

Dunbar Primary pupil Niamh Taylor and Aberlady Primary pupil Cameron Lee crowned winners at the East Lothian Primary Championships.

Niamh and Cameron Primary Champs

Dunbar Primary pupil Niamh Taylor and Aberlady Primary pupil Cameron Lee were crowned winners at the East Lothian Primary Badminton Championships held recently at North Berwick Sports Centre.

In the girls singles Niamh lived up to her top seeded position to reach the final against Law Primary pupil Kate Ellie Bent. In the final Niamh showed a little more consistency and power to overcome Niamh 21/18 to win her first East Lothian Primary title.

In the boys singles there were competitors from all over East Lothian fighting for the title.

At the semi-final stages there were three Law Primary pupils Callum Jack, Joe Hunter, Finn Ryan along with Aberlady Primary pupil Cameron Lee. In the first semi-final top seed, Callum Jack played Joe Hunter winning 21/18 and the other semi-final consisted of Law Primary pupil Finn Ryan and second seed Cameron Lee who both battled it out on court with Cameron winning 21/7 to reach the final.

The final was another very closely contested match with Cameron after some very exciting rallies went on to lift the title 21/16

‘B’ Winner – Luca Lugton (St Marys)) beat Jamie Sinclair (Law) 21/11

‘C’ Winner – Andrew Larkman (St Marys) beat Massimo Santangeli (St Marys) 21/17

‘D’ Winner – Jacob Glass (Sandersons Wynd) beat Archie Rettie (St Marys) 21/17
