in 2nd last Order of Merit event at Musselburgh Old Course

The penultimate Junior Golf Order of Merit Event was held at the world's oldest playing golf course, Musselburgh Old, on holiday Mon 18th Sept.  

There was a strong turn out of 16 juniors all after the chance to grab some of last points towards the order of merit.

The format was a 9 hole stableford with prizes for first in the Handicap and Non Handicap divisions, magic 3’s and nearest the pin at 5th.  

The top 6 players in each division will qualify for a prize winners clinic on Friday 3rd November at Loretto Golf Academy

1st Handicap:  Congratulations Jamie O’Connor (26 points) beating Joe MacPherson into 2nd (22 points)

1st Non Handicap:  Congratulations Ruaridh Clubb (43 points) beating Charlie Gill into a very close 2nd (42) in what was his first outing in the Junior Golf Order of Merit.

Nearest the pin at the 5th :  Sandy Bain and Ruaridh Club

3s: Ruaridh Clubb, Matthew Syme, Harry O’Connor, Charlie Gill and Ollie Stemp

2s: Ruaridh Clubb

With so many 3’s and a 2 I am now clean out of golf balls in my prize stock ... a good problem!

Please note: as this competition will be played on a full course from forward tees it will be more challenging than the on the par 3 courses. Players in the non handicap division are recommended to be getting a minimum of 18 points and have some playing experience on a full course.  If you are in doubt re your child’s standard please contact me.
