Ben has a ball at the Davis Cup!

Dunbar & East Lothian Squad player Ben Krievs given the honour of doing the coin toss on the final day at the tie in Glasgow.

Ben has a ball at the Davis Cup!

Great Britain took on Uzbekistan at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow at the weekend in what was the last match they will play in the competition in it’s current format. It provided an amazing opportunity for Ben Krievs, 9, of Dunbar Tennis Club and a member of the East Lothian District Squad, as he was invited by Tennis Scotland to do the coin toss before what turned out to be the winning singles rubber on the final day. The match was contested by Cameron Norrie and Sanjar Fayziev, with the Brit coming out on top in straight sets 6-2, 6-2, 6-0, handing GB victory in the tie.

It was an amazing experience for Ben, who has been playing tennis since he was 5. As well as doing the coin toss he got some photos on court with the players and umpire as well and also got the chance to grab some autographs. On top of that, Ben got to watch some top level tennis and enjoy a Great Britain win on home soil!
