EAST LOTHIAN U12/U14 RESTRICTED BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS

THREE PLAYERS WIN TRIPLE TITLES

Rachel Cameron (Musselburgh), Ellie Morris (Longniddry) and Alastair Campbell (Dunbar) were triple winners at the East Lothian U12/U14 Restricted Badminton Championships held recently at Meadowmill Sports Centre.

In the U12 age group Rachel won the girls singles title 21/7 against Kirsty Morrison (Aberlady) whilst Alastair had to fight hard to win the boys singles 21/18 against North Berwick’s James Guckian.

Rachel and Kirsty then teamed up together in the girls doubles to win 21/8 against Francesca Land and Freya Morris (Longniddry). In the boys doubles Alastair partnered John Arbuckle to take his second title 21/12 against opponents Ross McFarlane and James Guckian (N. Berwick).

Rachel and Alastair celebrated triple titles when they took the mixed doubles title against Ross Mcfarlane and Kirsty Morrison.

In the U14 age group Ellie Morris had a fantastic day winning girl’s singles, doubles and mixed titles. In her singles she was on form to take the title 21/13 against top seed Basia Grodynska (Longniddry). In the girls doubles with partner Sarah Brogan (Longniddry) won her second title 21/11 against Longniddry duo Laura Moos and Sophie Chater.

In her third final she partnered Lewis Campbell (Dunbar) where they beat James Morgan and Sarah Brogan (Longniddry) 21/12.

Campbell won his second title with regular partner Nathan Cox (Dunbar) winning a really close match 21/19 against James Morgan and U12 player Archie Bryden (Longniddry),  Morgan got his revenge in the boys singles beating Campbell 21/15 to win the title.
