FREYA AND ARCHIE PRIMARY BADMINTON CHAMPIONS

4 TITLES FOR LONGNIDDRY PRIMARY

Longniddry Primary pupils Freya Morris and Archie Bryden were both crowned Mid and East Primary Schools singles champions at the badminton tournament held recently at Meadowmill Sports Centre.

In the boys singles Archie had to work hard for every point to overcome Dunbar Primary pupil Cameron Pike 21/18. Bronze medals were also presented to Andrew Evans (Bonnyrigg Primary) and Euan Campbell (Dunbar Primary) as losing semi finalists.

In the boys doubles Bryden teamed up with 9 year old Andrew Morgan to win his second title 21/13 against fellow Longniddry pupils Henry Sykes and Lewis Robertson.

In the girls singles Freya Morris (Longniddry Primary) had to fight for every point to win 21/19 and take the gold medal against fast improving Lois Turnbull (Law Primary).

Lois then teamed up with Jess Rae to win the girls doubles title against Kings Meadow duo Rachel Broadly and Elise Hayman.

East Lothian Badminton Development Officer Christine Black would like to thank coaches, parents and Secondary senior pupils for all their assistance throughout the tournament.
