Juniors battle on despite Beast from the East

East Lothian Junior Fun Competiton Order of Merit

15 hardy juniors braved the dropping temperatures on Friday 23rd February at North Berwick's Children's Course.

This is the second competition that counts towards the East Lothian Junior Golf Fun Competition Order of Merit.

Players receive points throughout the season for playing in the fun competitions: 100 points for 1st, 75 points 2nd, 50 points for 3rd, 25 points for 4th and 10 points for 5th.  The top 6 players in each division at the end of the season qualify for a prize winners coaching clinic.

The competition format was Stableford with players in the primary division (non handicap) being awarded 1 point for a 6, 2 points for a 5 and so on.

Players in the secondary division (handicap) are awarded 1 points for a 5, 2 points for a 4 and so on.

Winner:  Ben English (31 points)

Second:  Rhuaridh Clubb (24 points)

Winning team (best 2 scores per hole): Ben English, Ben Austin, Fraser Graham and Rudi Forrest

2’s: Liam Baillie

FORTHCOMING Winter Junior Stableford series

Venue: North Berwick’s Children Course (next to the Marine Hotel)

Time: 1330 – 1500

Cost: FREE!

Format: 9 hole Stableford, nearest the pin and 2’s

The competitions will count towards the 2018 East Lothian Junior Golf Order of Merit. 

Winners will be invited to attend an end of season prize winners clinic.

Maximum number of entries we can accept in each competition is 36 so please book in advance by email:  kgreen@eastlothian.gov.uk

Competition Categories

Handicap Division: players with official handicaps or at secondary school

Non Handicap Division: players without official handicaps or at Primary School

Team Competition:  Best 2 Stableford scores per hole count towards your team score

I'm currently finalising the 2018 Junior Fixture List and will email it out to all families on my database and put it online as soon as possible.

Copies will also be circulated to local clubs for their junior members and juniors attending coaching.
