Dunbar Primary pupil Katie Taylor and Law Primary pupil Harry Bent are crowned Mid & East Lothian Primary Schools singles champions.
Dunbar Primary pupil Katie Taylor and Law Primary pupil Harry Bent were both crowned Mid & East Lothian Primary Schools singles champions at the badminton tournament held recently at Meadowmill Sports Centre.
In the girls’ singles final Katie was up against second seed Eleanor Liddle from Kings Meadow Primary winning 21-8 to take her first ever Mid & East Primary Singles title.
In her second final of the day she teamed up with younger sister Niamh Taylor and once again just too experienced for Kings Meadow duo Eleanor Liddle and Emma Buxton who both played really well to reach the final stage.
Harry Bent had a successful tournament when he took gold in the boys’ singles winning a hard fought match 21-17 against fellow Law Primary pupil Ben Riddle, and bronze medals going to Daniel Moos (Longniddry) and Finlay Jack (Law).
It was an all Dunbar Primary final in the boys’ doubles when Bent and Riddle teamed up together to win 21-15 and take gold against brothers Finlay and Callum Jack.
