Musselburgh Gymnasts Crowned Scottish Champions

Musselburgh Grammar Gymnasts on the podium at the British Schools Qualifiers

Gymnasts from Musselburgh Grammar School took part in the British Schools Gymnastics Association – Scottish Regional Heats on the 6^th of December at Aubigny Sports Centre, Haddington. Two teams from the school competed on the day.

The Under 14’s Girls Team - Ava Barnaby, Annabel Bain, India Mason and Tiegan Stewart – were superb throughout, finishing in 3rd Place.

Ava Barnaby performed a stunning floor routine earning her an individual Gold Medal in the U14's Competition.

The schools Under 19’s Mixed team won Gold, crowning them Scottish Champions and securing a place at the British Schools Championships in May.  The team won the qualifier event last year and went on to achieve Scotland’s first medal in the finals. Three members of this year’s team competed with the team last year (Aimee Givan, Amy Mee and Stewart McIntosh) with two new members making up the team (Rory Smith and Melissa Ashton).  In the Individual Competition, Aimee Givan finished 2^nd Overall and Rory Smith 3^rd place.
