North Berwick is the latest club to achieve Positive Coaching Scotland accreditation as they look to build on their strong community links
The East Lothian club have forged a strong relationship with North Berwick High School and their Community Sport Hub with the groups coming together to create a unified mission statement for the growth and development of the game in the area.
Positive Coaching Scotland programme leader for North Berwick, Steve Thomson, said:
"Our greatest asset here in North Berwick is the positive connection between the school, our community and the club. With the tools provided by Positive Coaching Scotland, our shared values and common ethos, we believe that the link can continue to be strengthened, and we, the community, will reap the benefits."
The mission statement is centred around creating a culture of commitment, self-respect, enjoyment and improvement as a united rugby community.
Iain Dove (Club president) on behalf of the club echoed the comments of Steve Thomson:
"PCS will help us build on the coaching ethos that exists in North Berwick and further help us continue to emphasise the sporting values that are the cornerstone of our club."
We would like to thank him and his team for their leadership throughout the process."
