Dunbar School Teams Sport Smart New Kit Thanks to Local Sponsor

Tarmac Unveiled as new DGS Sponsor

Dunbar Grammar School’s hockey and football teams are all set for a great season with players sporting smart new kits, thanks to sponsorship from nearby company Tarmac.

Tarmac which operates Scotland’s only cement works, has funded several key pieces of equipment for the school’s hockey and football teams. This includes new goalkeeper gear and strips for the hockey teams and new shorts and socks for three of the football teams, as well as a raft of new balls, cones and water bottles which are being utilised on a weekly basis by the school’s after school clubs.

Active Schools Coordinator for Dunbar Grammar School, Calum Taylor, commented: “We are hugely thankful to Tarmac for the support they have given the school’s football and hockey teams. In times where funding is becoming more and more difficult to source, the school’s stocks were in desperate need of an upgrade. The money supplied has given the teams a significant boost. Not only do they look the part, but they feel the part too and we’re now in a position to fully support increasing numbers of youngsters taking part in extra-curricular sport.”

Tarmac’s Dunbar Cement Plant Manager Oliver Curtin added: “We are delighted to be able to support the school in such a practical way as part of our proactive programme of partnering local schools and educational establishments. We look forward to seeing the kit getting good use and to hearing how the teams get on in their upcoming matches. We hope the Tarmac logo bring them good luck!”
