Tranent Schools En-Joy of Moving

All primary 6 classes in the Tranent cluster receive 6 weeks of the Joy of Moving programme in partnership with Hearts and the SPFL Trust.

Joy of Moving

The Joy of Moving programme is an education programme aimed at primary aged children learning about the benefits of physical activity and having a balanced diet.

The 6 week programme follows a 45 minute interactive classroom session teaching about importance of being physically active, healthy eating habits, how to stay hydrated and how they can do this in their daily lives, then the children take part in a 45 minute practical session that involves lots of fun games that help to improve balance, co-ordination, strength and flexibility.

This programme has only ever been delivered before in Glasgow with Celtic and Rangers Community Trust organisations so we are very fortunate to be in partnership with Hearts FC Community Coaching and bring this programme to the primary schools in the Tranent cluster.

The feedback so far from the children and teachers has been really positive and proving to be great tool for the young children’s learning.
