Tranent Scores A Belter This Easter

Over 70 kids enjoy Easter football camp in Tranent with new partnership approach.

Easter Tranent

This Easter saw for the first time a partnership approach to delivering our school holiday football programme after teaming up with Heart of Midlothian FC, Tranent Colts and the Scottish FA.

The key aims of the partnership were to offer more opportunities for children to participate in football programmes, forge links and pathways into club football and to enhance the current school holiday football programme in the area.

With over 70 kids in attendance from the Tranent Cluster and a ratio of 1 coach to every 10 kids, the coaches being a mixture of Hearts and East Lothian Community Coaches, there was a greater provision for each individual.

The content throughout the week was all about Fun, Small Sided Games, Skills Practices, More Games and More Fun.

The feedback from all partners involved was all very positive and plans already put in place for a repeat of this camp in the Summer.

A special mention of thanks must go to Councillor Jim Goodfellow, Cabinet Spokesperson for Community Wellbeing, for supporting the great success of the camp.
