Golf Fun Competition Order of Merit
31 hardy juniors competed in the third and final of our Junior Winter Stablefords at North Berwick’s Children’s Course on Friday 4th March.
With a wind chill of -3 it was great to see such dedication despite the conditions. My favourite suggestion of the day was that we get a half way house at the 4th serving hot chocolate ... maybe next year!
The competition was again played in two divisions:
Congratulations to the following players:
Handicap Winner: Archie Wilson (Gullane) with 21 points beating Jamie O’Connor (Gullane) into 2nd place on the better last 4 holes. This was Jamie’s first competition of the series so well done Jamie for coming a very close second.
Non-Handicap Winner: Jack Lucas (Gullane) with 30 points. This was also Jack's first competition of the series and he was 6 points clear of joint second place MacKenzie Notley and Freddie Holt. Freddie beat MacKenzie into 3rd place by the last 3 holes. Jamie Goan also beat Cameron McVey into 5th place by the last 3 holes. Great to see such close competition.
Winning Team: best two stableford points combined at each hole
Jamie O’Connor (Gullane) Robbie Rutherford (Muss), Leo Harrison (Muss) and Callum Hall (Muss) with 50 points. It was again a very close competition with 4 teams tied on 50 points but this team clinched it on the better last 3 holes.
Nearest the pin: due to the high winds no one was on the green so the prize was safe!
Congratuations to Archie Wilson (Gullane) and MacKenzie Notely (Craigielaw) who are currently sittin at the top of the table in their respective divisions. With a full season of fun competitions ahead of us there is still everything to play for so get booking and planning for the season ahead!
