Thanks to all juniors (and parents/caddies!) for supporting the first of our Winter Junior golf events.
It was great to have such a strong turnout despite the squall just before the competition and we were very lucky to get it dry and calm in the end.
Congratulations to Ben Churn who won Sunday’s competition beating Gemma McArdle into a very close 2nd by only 1 point!
Nearest the pins were won by Rory Paterson (1st hole) and Eleanor Stirling (4th hole).

I’ve decided to trial doing a little handicap system to try to level out the playing field. I’ve based 9 hole handicaps on Sunday’s results (max 9 hole handicap will be 18) and I will use these handicaps at the next event and alter them following each event depending on the results. We’ll see how we get on with this and my hope is that the club will be able to computerise this in the future so that the juniors can have a Children’s course handicap.
