Campbell wins 2 Titles.

Silverware returned to East Lothian when Dunbar’s Euan Campbell was a double winner and Amanda Martin from Pencaitland won the girls doubles title at the Scottish National U13 Badminton Championships at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility.

Campbell had a busy week end winning two titles in the U13 boys singles and in the boy’s doubles with regular partner Andrew Evans from Bonnyrigg and also reaching the semi final stages of the mixed doubles with Jess Rae from North Berwick.

In the boys singles semi final Euan Campbell was up against top seed Ian Campbell of Inverness and showed tremendous composure and consistency throughout the match to topple the favourite in two straight sets 21/12 21/13.

In the final Euan continued his good run to win his first National Championships against Lewis Hart from Motherwell 21/15 21/13.

In the Boys Doubles final Campbell teamed up with Andrew Evans to win his second title after a nail biting three set match 21/15 17/21 21/19 against Lewis Hart and Callum Stokes (Duns).

The third national title to come back to the county was in girls doubles when Amanda Martin from Pencaitland teamed up with Catherine Holland from Edinburgh. At the semi final stage they had a hard fought three set match against North Berwick duo Lois Turnbull and Jess Rae which they won 23/25 21/16 21/17. In the final they were pushed all the way again losing the first set 15/21 but coming back strongly to clinch the title 21/15 21/18 against Lindsey Ireland (Dundee) and Mary Kong (Edinburgh).
