Football Development & ELSSDA Team Up 4 New Format

East Lothian Football Development and East Lothian Soccer Sevens Development Association partner to deliver the new 4v4 festival format introduced to the Scottish FA National Player Pathway for players born in 2013.

ELSSDA 4s 2013s

As part of the changes to the Small Sided Games format at the youngest age groups and those teams who attend the Fun Fours Football Festival East Lothian Football Development are now co-ordinating the festivals for 2013s age groups at Meadowmill Sports Centre.

The changes include a variety of games to play including the middle goal game, numbers game and gates game that ensure every child regardless of their experience has maximum involvement and touches of the ball during the activities with a key focus on instilling the Let Them Play ethos being driven by Scottish FA.

With four of East Lothian Football Development's community coaches in attendance each week to co-ordinate the festivals they also to support the coaches taking the teams by offering guidance and assistance where needed as we appreciate that it's not just the players who are starting out on their footballing journey in a lot of cases so are the volunteer coaches and it's so important they also have a positive experience.

McDonalds are the main sponsor for the Matchday Festivals and their support for grassroots football to increase participation is greatly appreciated.

The 2013s 4v4 Festivals take place at Meadowmill Sports Centre on the grass playing fields each Saturday from 9.15am to 10.15am.
