East Lothian's Junior Golfers have been turning out in force this season inspired by the added bonus of the Race to The Open!
They are clocking up points in East Lothian's Order of Merit Fun Competitions and Stephen Gallacher Foundation events which are being held across the county. The top 6 handicap players and top 6 non-handicap players will be invited to attend The Open and the competition is heating up! Click here for the 2013 East Lothian Order of Merit
The penultimate competition in the Race to The Open, was run by the Stephen Gallacher Foundation and hosted by Haddington Golf Club, on Friday 7th June. 39 kids enjoyed the sunshine and the excellent condition of the course. Jane Connachan and David Burns were on hand to give all the children a lesson on the day.
The best round of the day went to Aaron Hall who completed the shortened 9 hole course in an excellent 30 shots to win the Under 12 boys section. Other category winners were: Under 14 Girls - Megan Linton, Under 10 Girls - Emma Rudd and Under 10 Boys - Archie Wilson. All the prize winners now qualify for the Finals day on Sunday 6th October at Kingsfield Golf Club.
