Loretto Golf Academy opens its doors to East Lothian’s golfers of the future

Junior Golf Order of Merit Prize winners end of season coaching clinic

Having worked hard all season competing in East Lothian’s 16 Junior Golf Order of Merit Events - 12 lucky junior golfers were rewarded with a coaching clinic at Loretto Academy’s brand new state of the art practice facility. The clinic held on Friday 20^th November 2015 was kindly hosted by Loretto and delivered by one of their in house PGA Pro’s Ryan Scott.  The Juniors from across East Lothian took part in 3 skills challenges:

• Trackman straightest drive: won by Angus Blacklock of Craigielaw GC with a fantastic 0.1 from the line
• Up and down chipping and putting: won by Harry O’Connor of Gullane GC
• Target chipping: won by Charlie Malcolm of North Berwick GC

All the players will receive a pen drive with their trackman stats and analysis which will give them feedback to use for next season when we hope to see them all back in the top 12 again!

Many thanks to all the clubs that hosted an Order of Merit event in 2015 helping juniors to experience golf across the authority.  Thanks also to all of the Volunteer and PGA Professsional coaches that worked with the juniors this year to develop their skills so that they can enjoy their golf when they get out on the course.
