Records Tumble at County Athletics

East Lothian athletes took advantage of favourable conditions to break East Lothian secondary school athletics championships

Dunbar crowned county champions

There were fantastic conditions for the rescheduled East Lothian Secondary Schools and the 300 pupils from across the six county secondary schools took advantage of the great conditions with fifteen records falling. 

It was Dunbar Grammar who were crownded champions after a hard fought competition, the competition was tight going into the relays but Dunbar topped the tables with 327 points, with North Berwick second (301), Musselburgh Grammar third (296), Preston Lodge HS fourth (289), Ross High School fifth (263) and Knox Academy sixth (201).

Cameron Steven (Dunbar) broke the 1500m county record by a whole 13seconds and there was a double record breaking performance from Tarryn Wood (Preston Lodge) in the Senior Girls Long Jump and Triple Jump. Lewis Goodall (Preston Lodge) also had a double record breaking peformance in the 100m and 200m, with Eloise Gray (Dunbar) in the 100m and Owen Ashall (North Berwick) setting a new PB and record in the High Jump. There were a total of fifteen records falling on the day. Well done to the record breakers
