East Lothian Football Development saw over 150 children attend this years summer camps which were held in Haddington, Meadowmill, Dunbar and North Berwick.
It was a typical scottish start to summer camps, some very soggy days at Haddington but that didn't stop the children from having a ball!
This years EL Football Development held its first girls only camp running alongside the Womens European Championships. With the girls having the opportunity to play football in the morning and watching the games live on TV at night, raised many questions about the womens game and inspiring a few along the way. A big thanks to the girls clubs in the area who supported this camp.
Dunbar camp was our busiest of the summer, with a massive 80 children participating. Again the lovely summer rain struck a few times but the coaches were on hand to provide football quizzes and old school games in the changing rooms to keep them occupied while eating their lunch. Out on the pitch the coaches challenges proved to be the kids favourite with penalties into our 'Elite GKs' never ending!
Lastly, North Berwick had 45 participants which all played through the rain and wind learning key skills which are important in the game.
Each child received a certificate and gift on the last day.
A massive thanks to all involved including the volunteers who definately made the difference.
