Sports Awards 204

Celebrating Sport 2018 is an Awards Ceremony organised by East Lothian Council to recognise and to celebrate the achievements of many of the sportspeople and sports clubs within East Lothian.

Cabinet Spokesperson for Community Wellbeing, Councillor Jim Goodfellow, supports the event:

“The Celebrating Sport awards provide an opportunity to recognise the amazing diversity of sporting achievements in East Lothian.

The achievements of the people in East Lothian are truly inspiring with success being obtained at county, regional and international level. A new award has been introduced this year, ‘Inspiring in East Lothian’ , in recognition of the ‘unsung heroes’ who may have overcome adversity to become inspirational role models through sport or physical activity. The backbone of the sports community, the coaches and volunteers, are also recognised and I look forward to meeting the nominees at the event”

As main sponsors of the event,  Bill Axon, General Manager of enjoyleisure adds:

“enjoyleisure are again delighted to be the main event sponsor of Celebrating Sport.  As East Lothian’s leading sports and leisure provider, we manage facilities across the county and therefore witness on a daily, weekly basis the time, effort, emotion and dedication that is required from individuals, coaches, volunteers, parents and officials that is goes into achieving sporting success.  It is always an honour and delight to be part of this special event which commemorates the development, coaching, inspirational and sporting achievements of our county’s population.”
