Pilot lands in East Lothian
24 children from East Lothian have been invited to take part in an exciting new pilot of a golf education exerience called The Learn from the Legacy.
The programme, written by William Lumsden from Whitburn, offers juniors a programme of 10 x 5 hour “Legacy Life Lessons” delivered by the Legacy Ambassadors including PGA Pro Allan Martin. This opportunity has been made available free of charge thanks to support from North Berwick Golf Club.
The Learn from the Legacy Education Experience aims to introduce a new cultural change in the way the game of golf is taught to children. Alongside teaching the fundamentals of how to play the game the programme will introduce a new, pioneering concept that uses the legacy of the game of golf’s founding father, Tom Morris of St Andrews, as a life-learning vehicle to educate, empower and inspire children through all walks of life. Through his legacy, the programmes looks to honour golf’s heritage by identifying the key chapters and influencers in Tom’s life in a fun, interactive learning environment that helps children discover more about the game of golf, and about themselves.
