Pencaitland Youth Youth Football Club Coach Neil McMillan, wins a Volunteer Spotlight Award!

Neil Mcmm spotlight

January 2018 saw another one of our Volunteer Spotlight award being awarded to Neil McMillan for his amazing work at Pencaitland Youth Football Club

Neil has coached the 2004 team at PYFC for 7 years before taking on the 2010 team in the last year. Including his role as team coach, he has taken up the role of club treasurer while playing the leading role in running the club for nearly 10 years. For 3 of those years he was the Secretary of East Lothian SSDA organising children's football for all age groups across the county.

He also coaches Cricket for Tranent CC as part of their youth set up. Neil is a great example fo one of East Lothian’s volunteers who will get involved to do his best for the local community and look for very little recognition in return.

Neil was nominated by this award by fellow club member Ian Archer who said; “He is a star and I have loved seeing him receive a Spotlight award for his many years of service. Truly Deserved!”

Neil collected his award from Nic Wilson from Cricket Scotland at their recent awards night, where he was joined by many of the players from his teams.
